About Matthew:

Originally from Australia, I moved to the United States in 2009 to pursue a career in the Golf Industry. I began my professional career at Stratton Mountain Country Club, and in 2011 I was named Head Professional.  I remained in that role through the 2016 season. I also taught at both the renowned Stratton Mountain Golf School, and for Golf Made Simple.

In 2017, I re-located to the Albany, NY area to be closer to my now-wife, Katie. We got married in September of 2018 and now live in Schenectady, New York. In January of 2019, I received my PGA Membership in the Northeastern New York PGA Section. I am currently the PGA Director of Instruction at Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland, New York. 

A left hander naturally, I enjoyed playing multiple sports growing up, including soccer, tennis, cricket, basketball in addition to golf. From 1994-1998, I lived in Brussels, Belgium where I first started playing competitive junior golf. From 2001-2004, I lived in Berlin, Germany and continued my competitive amateur career there.

My Father, Justin, has been my swing coach for as long as I can remember, and to this day he can always take a look at my swing and tell me what needs adjusting. My Mother, Colleen, has been my biggest supporter from the very beginning- I remember Mum driving me to golf tournaments when I was ten years old! My siblings Steven and Diana live in Melbourne, Australia while my youngest brother Richard lives in Japan with his fiancée.
